Ads are annoying and disruptive - installing an ad blocker is an easy way to clean up your browsing experience.
Ghostery is my current favorite ad blocker (for Firefox, for Chrome) that blocks ads on all sites (including YouTube for uninterrupted listening/watching)

To block ads on a mobile browser, you often have to enable an add on.
For Firefox, select the more options (three dots), Add-ons, and enable uBlock Origin
